To deliver compassionate care to the patients in our community.
To combine science, technology, teamwork and human intuition in the care experience.
To listen. To learn. To lead.
Dawson Med, and its staff, are committed to eliminating health disparities. According to the CDC, health disparities or inequities, are types of unfair health differences closely linked with social, economic or environmental disadvantages that adversely affect groups of people. Health inequities are reflected in differences in length of life, quality of life, rates of disease, disability, and death, the severity of disease, and access to treatment.
Achieving health equity will not be a simple feat. It will require, amongst other things, educating both patients and providers, expanding resources and opportunities for healthy living, in addition to changing certain patterns of eating and activity. Dawson Med is committed to this lofty goal. We’re here for the journey and invite you to walk alongside us.
“We are blessed to live in the richest country on Earth. Wealth has been accumulated in record fashion. Knowledge is acquired and information is shared across the globe in a moment’s time. And scientific advances in healthcare have allowed for previously unthinkable interventions that have preserved and prolonged life. With all of these things collectively at our disposal, we have still lost ground in some areas with regard to health disparities. Instead of seeing health inequity gaps close, we’ve seen some widen. The goal of Dawson Med is to attack the forces that are driving health inequality and make long standing changes that will impact the next generation. Educate to eradicate.”
